SIMI VALLEY, Calif. (AP) — The funeral for former first lady Nancy Reagan will take place Friday at the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in Simi Valley, California. The White House says first lady Michelle Obama will attend. Mrs. Reagan, who died Sunday of congestive heart failure, will be buried next to her husband at the library.
NEW YORK (AP) — Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg doesn't mean business when it comes to the 2016 election, after all. The billionaire Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-Democrat-turned-independent says he won't run for president. He's concerned a third-party independent bid would hand the White House to Donald Trump or Ted Cruz.
RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — Virginia would be allowed to force condemned inmates to die in the electric chair under a bill approved today by the state Senate. Under current law, Virginia gives inmates the choice of lethal injection or electrocution. The bill would allow the state to use the electric chair if lethal injection drugs are unavailable.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Oklahoma regulators are asking oil and natural gas producers in the central part of the state to decrease their wastewater disposal operations. The proposal is aimed at trying to temper a sharp increase in the number and severity of earthquakes. The underground wastewater disposal is suspected as the cause.
CLEVELAND (AP) — The recipient of the nation's first uterus transplant says she's grateful to the deceased donor's family and surgeons who've given her the chance to bear a child. Doctors at the Cleveland Clinic say the 26-year-old woman is recovering well after receiving the uterus late last month.
