BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — The North Dakota State Council on Developmental Disabilities has selected Julianne Horntvedt as its new executive director.

Horntvedt is a Dickinson native and has a master's degree in educational leadership from North Dakota State University.

The North Dakota State Council on Developmental Disabilities is a federally funded program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The council is charged with helping to improve the lives of people with developmental disabilities. The council is comprised of 20 members who are appointed by the governor.
