DENVER (AP) — The Summit County Coroner's Office has determined that a man who was killed in a skiing accident at the Breckenridge Ski Resort died of blunt force trauma injuries.
The Denver Post reports (http://dpo.st/1VRLBRL ) that officials say 26-year-old Christopher Dutko had been heading down an intermediate run Tuesday when he collided with another skier, lost control and struck a tree. Coroner Regan Wood says Dutko wasn't wearing a helmet when he crashed.
The resort's ski patrol had responded to the scene before Dutko was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Dutko had been living and working in Breckenridge but was originally from Pennsylvania.
