PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — Maine medical officials have placed a Falmouth psychiatrist on probation in connection with the 2015 drug overdose death of one of his patients.
The Portland Press Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1nhN2Np ) the state medical board placed Dr. Reinaldo De los Heros on six months of probation in a Feb. 24 consent agreement released Monday. De los Heros said in a letter to the board that his actions were appropriate.
The board said De los Heros failed to coordinate 39-year-old Kelly Deyo's care with her primary care physicians and poorly documented her visits. Deyo struggled with a mental illness and took her own life on April 19, 2015.
