DELAWARE, Ohio (AP) — Jurors say they're hopelessly deadlocked and can't reach a verdict in the case of an Ohio chess teacher accused of sexually abusing two of his students.
The Columbus Dispatch reports (http://bit.ly/1Rgd3VF ) the jury made that declaration earlier this week after more than 12 hours of deliberation over two days.
F. Leon Wilson is accused of twice touching a 4-year-old at a preschool and a 7-year-old at an elementary school in April. The 62-year-old Columbus teacher is charged with gross sexual imposition.
Delaware County prosecutors say they will discuss a possible retrial with the families.
Defense attorney Bradley Koffel says it's a victory any time someone accused of a crime like this is able to walk out from the court and go home.
