PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) — The city of Pascagoula is looking for a lighthouse keeper and tour guide.
City spokeswoman Anne Pitre tells The Sun Herald (http://bit.ly/1oVstrO) she would apply for the job herself if the keeper of the Round Island Lighthouse worked full time.
The part-time job pays $8 an hour.
Duties include promoting the newly restored lighthouse that sits at the foot of U.S. 90's high-rise bridge into the city.
Tours are Fridays and Saturdays for $2 per person.
The job application says the keeper needs to be familiar with Pascagoula history, specifically the Round Island Lighthouse and Gulf Coast tourism and to be able to give directions and other pertinent information to visitors.
The person chosen will need to get a first aid certification.
