SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Several leaders from Warren Jeffs' polygamous sect are due in court today after their arrests on federal charges of food stamp fraud and money laundering. U.S. attorneys say 11 people were charged, including Lyle Jeffs and Seth Jeffs. They are top-ranking leaders of the FLDS Church and brothers of imprisoned sect leader Warren Jeffs. The sect is based on the Utah-Arizona border.

CLEARFIELD, Utah (AP) — Police have identified three people who died after a car crash near Ogden. The Standard-Examiner reports that Clearfield Police say Seth Wolf of Clearfield was driving a car that hit a minivan carrying Sunset residents Damon Udy and Sophie Udy. All three were killed. Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that Wolf did not stop at a red light and may have been speeding.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A former West Valley City police officer who was fired after he fatally shot a woman during a drug investigation is suing the city. Shaun Cowley says in the federal civil rights suit that city officials ruined his reputation and made him a scapegoat for larger problems with the department's narcotics squad, which was disbanded. City officials say they're disappointed in Cowley's suit and will defend themselves.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Gordon Hayward scored 28 points and the Utah Jazz defeated the Houston Rockets 117-114 in overtime last night in a game with significant playoff implications. The victory moved the Jazz into the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference playoff race, a half-game ahead of the Rockets. James Harden scored 42 points for Houston.
