SANTA CLARITA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say two people were killed and another was injured in a crash involving a big rig that spilled lemons across State Route 126 near Santa Clarita.

California Highway Patrol Officer Monica Posada says the crash was reported Tuesday morning near Chiquito Canyon Road.

She says it wasn't immediately clear how many vehicles were involved.

Los Angeles County Fire Department Inspector Randall Wright says two people died at the scene. A third person was hospitalized.

Route 126 was closed in both directions while crews cleared the lanes.
