LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) — Louisiana-Lafayette small forward Jay Hedgeman has been suspended for the rest of the season.
A university spokesman said Monday that Hedgeman was suspended due to "conduct detrimental to the team." No other details or reasons for the suspension were released.
The Advertiser (http://bit.ly/1VA2zEc ) reports Hedgeman, a transfer this season from San Jacinto (Texas) College, had been averaging 4.8 points and 2.7 rebounds over 13.6 minutes per game for the Ragin' Cajuns. He did not play in Louisiana-Lafayette's loss Saturday at Texas State.
With Hedgeman out, coach Bob Marlin says shooting guard Hayward Register or swingman Johnathan Stove may pick up more minutes.
