WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Park Service says the Washington Monument will be closed until next week to repair an elevator control box.
The Park Service says in an email Friday that the control box was inadvertently damage by a contractor working in the structure on an unrelated issue.
The reopening date will be determined as repairs are made over the weekend.
