SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (AP) — Lake Superior State University is taking steps toward establishing its first campus-wide master plan in decades.
The Evening News of Sault Ste. Marie reports (http://bit.ly/1TpVkzB ) the plan will outline ways to best use available indoor and outdoor campus space. The plan also will look ahead to the potential for new building projects at the Upper Peninsula school.
Interim Vice President for Finance Morrie Walworth says the plan will include about $60 million to $80 million in future construction over the next 20 to 25 years.
The school has hired Grand Rapids-based TowerPinkster to develop the plan for the campus in Sault Ste. Marie. A final draft is expected by late April.
University President Tom Pleger says an overall master plan hasn't been done for Lake Superior State since the 1950s.
