BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) — North Dakota education officials say high school seniors may qualify for up to $6,000 in college tuition through state-sponsored scholarships.
State Superintendent Kirsten Baesler says academic and career and technical education scholarships are available to students who meet the criteria. Scholarship aid is distributed in chunks of $750 per semester or $500 per quarter, with a $1,500 annual limit and a $6,000 maximum payment.
To be eligible for an academic scholarship, a high school student must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.0 on a scale of zero to 4.0. A qualifying student needs a minimum score of 24 on the ACT exam, and to have no grade lower than "C'' on any course that is required to qualify for a scholarship.
The application deadline is June 3.
