NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — George W. Bush says his brother Jeb has the faith and strength it takes to be president.
Campaigning with his younger brother in South Carolina, the former president didn't mention Donald Trump by name, but appeared to contrast Jeb Bush's character with that of his brother's GOP rival.
The elder Bush said, "Jeb's a man of humble, deep and genuine faith — faith that reveals itself through good works, not loud words."
The former president said he knows from experience that the strength needed in the nation's highest office "can come from the comfort of a higher power, and the humility that comes from realizing the almighty's gift of grace."
Humility isn't a word normally associated with Trump, who boasts of his success and dismisses Jeb Bush as weak.
Sound: Upcoming
