GOLDEN, Colorado (AP) — A magnitude-6.2 earthquake has been recorded off the coast of New Zealand.
The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck shortly before 1930 GMT Monday and was centered 136 miles (219 kilometers) northwest of Auckland Island and 735 miles southwest of Wellington. It was at a depth of 6.2 miles.
There was no immediate tsunami alert from the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.
