BATH, Maine (AP) — Emergency medical personnel successfully delivered a baby girl in the parking lot of a supermarket in southern Maine.

WGME-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1KfLONL ) Sophia Swain-Stark delivered her daughter Chloe in the parking lot of Shaw's Supermarket in Bath on Thursday morning.

Chloe, who weighed 5 pounds and 12 ounces at birth, was born two weeks early inside her father's parked truck. Swain-Stark and Chloe's father were on the road to the hospital for about five minutes before Swain-Stark's water broke.

After dialing 911, an ambulance crew agreed to meet the couple in the parking lot and deliver the baby there. The men later visited Swain-Stark and Chloe in the hospital.

Both mother and daughter are healthy.

Swain-Stark says she believes a snowmobile ride she took on Wednesday helped speed up Chloe's delivery.
