A Utah 7th grader is a finalist in the Verizon Innovative App Challenge, and he needs your help to make it to the next round.
Tommy Whitford goes to DaVinci Academy in Ogden. Along with many of the other 7th Graders in his school, he came up with an app idea. But his plan to build an app that scans barcodes while at the grocery store. It compares ingredients with a personalized allergen list to help keep users safe.
Whitford's idea won best in state and is now on the national level. If they win nationals, students will get to work with professionals at MIT to make their app a reality.
