BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The University of Washington medical school is asking Idaho legislators for nearly $279,000 to give more Idaho students a chance to attend the school. The request would fulfill a 2009 plan to increase the number of Idaho students to 40 per class.

COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — A doctor testifying for the defense says a 16-year-old boy accused of killing his father and brother didn't act deliberately. The Coeur d'Alene Press reports that neuropsychologist Craig Beaver testified that Eldon Samuel III was incapable of weighing the consequences of his actions.

SHOSHONE, Idaho (AP) — A manhunt is on for two men in a kidnapping and execution-style shooting in the Idaho desert. The Times-News reports the 29-year-old victim is recovering at a hospital. Prosecutors say the three men left Francisco Bravo-Martinez to die in the desert after shooting him, but he managed to call 911.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A Post Falls woman says she found her missing pet fox -- skinned at a local taxidermy shop. KREM-TV reports that Kimberlee Buechner believes the fox was stolen from a locked cage on Monday. She says there was no indication the pet fox escaped on its own.
