LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's unemployment rate took another slight dip in December, while the average jobless rate for the year was down a full percentage point for the year.

The state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation reported Wednesday that Nevada's unemployment rate dropped to 6.4 percent last month, a new seven-year low.

That number is down from the 6.5 percent recorded in November.

Meanwhile, the average unemployed rate for the year was 6.8 percent, down a whole percentage point from 2014.

The jobless number peaked at 13.7 percent at the height of the recession in 2010.

Construction jobs lead in percentage growth in the state while leisure and hospitality jobs had the highest nominal growth.
