WASHINGTON (AP) — A senior U.S. defense official says the 10 American sailors who were briefly held by Iran have been sent to a U.S. military facility in Qatar. The official says the sailors will be debriefed by naval officials and will get medical checkups, though there's no sign any were harmed. The nine men and one woman were held in an Iranian base on Farsi Island in the Persian Gulf after being detained nearby yesterday. The U.S. military has said that mechanical trouble with one of the boats caused them to drift into Iranian territorial waters.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iranian state television has shown dramatic images of the moment when Revolutionary Guard forces captured 10 U.S. sailors in the Persian Gulf. The video and stills were published hours after the nine American men and one woman were released by Iran. Some images show the U.S. sailors with their hands on their heads, while others show Iranians inspecting the machine guns onboard and going through papers.

ISTANBUL (AP) — Turkish police have arrested one person suspected of a direct link to the deadly suicide bombing that killed 10 Germans yesterday in Istanbul's main tourist area. Officials say more than a dozen other suspected IS militants were detained today in other parts of the country, and dozens more yesterday, but officials say none appear to be tied to yesterday's attack just steps from the Blue Mosque in Istanbul.

CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) — As she tries to maintain an advantage among African-American voters in her bid for the Democratic nomination, Hillary Clinton has picked up an endorsement from the nation's first black attorney general. Eric Holder, who served in that post for more than five years, is calling Clinton "the candidate that we need in the White House" to continue what he calls "the progress of President Obama." The former attorney general will campaign for Clinton in an upcoming trip to South Carolina.

FLINT, Mich. (AP) — Police in Flint, Michigan, are warning people to be wary of scammers trying to prey on residents amid the city's drinking water crisis. They say they've received reports of people selling water filters -- but they note that filters are being distributed for free around the city, so there's no need to buy one from someone on the street. Flint's tap water became contaminated with too much lead after the city switched its water supply in 2014 to save money while under state financial management.
