DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — A convicted sex offender accused of kidnapping and assaulting three women — one fatally — has been sentenced to 45 years in prison.
The Daytona Beach News-Journal (http://goo.gl/1pVo02 ) reports that 52-year-old John Lytus pleaded guilty Monday to second-degree murder, aggravated assault and kidnapping.
Police say Lytus picked up three prostitutes in Daytona Beach on separate occasions in September of last year. One of the women, 30-year-old Laura Nagengast, was found dead in DeLand three days after she vanished.
One of the surviving victims had been pregnant and has since given birth to a healthy baby girl.
Lytus was previously convicted of raping a 19-year-old woman in 1986.
