SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A Utah grandmother accused of leaving her meth pipe in her 8-year-old granddaughter's backpack has pleaded guilty to child endangerment and drug charges. Police say the 59-year-old told investigators she was smoking meth shortly before helping the girl with her reading homework in Washington Terrace, Utah, and put the pipe in the bag by accident.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors say there was enough evidence to convict a Utah doctor of drugging and killing his wife even without disputed testimony from a former cellmate at the center of an appeal. Utah County prosecutors filed court papers this week in response to an appeal filed on behalf of Martin MacNeill.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The father of a teenage girl who was hit and killed by a car driven by the sister of a Unified police officer on Halloween night is criticizing the police investigation. Unified police deny that the investigation in the death of 14-year-old Victoria Hillman was biased and handed the investigation over to West Valley City Police.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Outdoor retailers are showing off their new products at the world's largest outdoor retail show in Salt Lake City. Many new products are designed specifically for backcountry skiers. Research from SnowSports Industries America shows that estimated 7.6 million skiers and snowboarders ventured into the backcountry in 2014.
