BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) — Tulane University is the latest Louisiana school to ban the use of Hoverboards from campus following scores of injuries and fires related to the devices.
NOLA.com/The Times-Picayune reports (http://bit.ly/1SEQLBk ) Tulane blocked the possession, storage, charging or use of Hoverboards or electronic skateboards inside university facilities or buildings until further notice. The Office of Insurance and Risk Management at Tulane posted the ban in an email Friday to members of the Tulane community.
Southeastern Louisiana University and University of Louisiana at Lafayette announced similar bans Thursday, urging students to leave the devices home when they return to campus for spring classes, which begin next week. LSU banned the devices last week.
The Advocate reports (bit.ly/1n7DxRp) officials at Southern University and Nicholls State also are considering policy changes to ban Hoverboards.
