SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — South Korea has resumed its border broadcasts of anti-Pyongyang propaganda. Today's broadcasts follow North Korea's claims earlier this week that it successfully conducted a hydrogen bomb test. South Korea's broadcasts draw a furious response from the North, which considers them an act of psychological warfare on its people.

PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) — The White House is asking the tech world for help in battling terrorism. Top national security officials will be in Silicon Valley today to discuss with tech industry leaders how to stop terrorists from radicalizing people on line and getting them to carry out attacks.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — A Philadelphia police officer shot multiple times is expected to survive. Police say the officer was ambushed last night as he sat in his marked police cruiser. The gunman fired a total of 13 shots at close range, hitting the officer and his car. The officer returned fire, hitting the gunman at least three times. Police say the gunman ran off, but was quickly arrested by other officers.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Two demolition contractors are being sentenced in a Philadelphia today for a building collapse that killed six people. Prosecutors argue that contractor Griffin Campbell cut corners on the job, causing a four-story brick wall to collapse on an adjacent thrift store in June 2013, trapping 19 people inside. Subcontractor Sean Benscop said he was using heavy equipment instead of doing the delicate job by hand. But both men say they were scapegoats for the people who hired them.

BEIJING (AP) — Bulldozers dozers in central China unexpectedly demolished part of a hospital and its adjoining morgue, sending doctors, nurses and patients running. Six bodies being processed at the morgue were buried. It happened Thursday morning in Henan province. The Xinhua (shihn-wah) News Agency says that the hospital is accusing the local government of ordering the demolition after failing to get the hospital to agree to it for a road expansion project.
