SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A federal appeals court is set to hear arguments in March about a push to defund the Utah branch of Planned Parenthood after the release of secretly recorded videos showing out-of-state employees discussing fetal tissue from abortions. The Planned Parenthood Association of Utah is appealing a judge's order that allowed the governor to cut off federal money for sex education and sexually transmitted disease testing.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Conservation groups are asking the federal government to continue keeping a close eye on gray wolf populations throughout the northern Rocky Mountains because states are aggressively seeking to kill more wolves. According to the petition, the five groups are seeking an additional five years of monitoring from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The federal agency has been monitoring wolves since they were delisted in 2011, but those efforts are scheduled to sunset in May.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah officials commemorated the state Capitol's 100th anniversary by unveiling a giant state seal laid in the tile floor. KSL-TV reports that the mosaic seal in the Hall of Governors was revealed Monday, which also marked 120 years of statehood for Utah. The new seal was made from terrazzo with some granite, marble, limestone, brass, bronze and aluminum pieces.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Jazz have waived reserve Elijah Millsap. The Jazz now have an extra roster spot and the flexibility to make a move to help offset injuries. Millsap played in 67 games over two seasons with the Jazz and averaged 4.2 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.1 assists. Reserve Chris Johnson saw his minutes increase as Millsap's decreased.
