SPARKS, Nev. (AP) — A six-hour standoff with a SWAT team in Sparks has ended peacefully with the surrender of the suspect.
Sparks police say Daniel Enriquez surrendered around 1 p.m. Tuesday at a residence a few blocks from Greenbrae Elementary School.
Officers had successfully removed other people from the residence on O Street about an hour earlier.
Sparks Police Lt. Rocky Triplett said shortly after the incident began about 7 a.m. that Enriquez had made statements about shooting at police officers. He says Reno police were looking for him as a suspect in an earlier robbery and shooting.
It's not clear if Enriquez was armed. No other details have been released.
