COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho (AP) — Despite an extension that will allow Idaho residents to fly commercially and enter federal facilities in 2016, lawmakers are being asked to handle compliance issues with Idaho driver's licenses and the REAL ID Act. The Coeur D'Alene Press reports that a spokesman with the Idaho Transportation Department says the remaining issues cannot be completed until the legislature acts.

MOUNTAIN HOME, Idaho (AP) — A 38-year-old man police say shot a Mountain Home Air Force Base airman at a laundry in southern Idaho has pleaded guilty to aggravated battery with the use of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony. The Idaho Statesman reports that Lajuan Lee faces up to 30 years in prison at his sentencing scheduled for Feb. 29.

CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Southwest Idaho authorities say a man shot by police over the weekend in Homedale pulled a gun and fired. Canyon County Sheriff Kieran Donahue says Gilbert Heredia is in critical condition at a hospital following the exchange of gunfire with police. Donahue says one of the officers was wearing a body camera.

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Authorities have identified the southwest Idaho married couple found dead in their home as 90-year-old Mildred Thompson and 88-year-old Thomas Thompson. Canyon County Coroner Vicki DeGeus-Morris tells the Idaho Statesman that the couple likely died due to carbon monoxide poisoning after a vehicle was left running in the garage. She says investigators found no signs of foul play.
