FORT BRAGG, N.C. (AP) — Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl made his first appearance before a military judge today to face charges of desertion and misbehavior before the enemy. Bergdahl deferred entering a plea and did not decide whether he wants to face a court-martial with a jury or one with just a judge.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Disabilities activists say a recent decision by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare to cut Medicaid reimbursement rates for in-home care will hurt patient care. The Post Register reports reimbursement levels will go back to what providers received in 2006. The state says it won't allow loss of access to services.

RIGGINS, Idaho (AP) — Idaho Power officials say residents in Valley County in north-central Idaho should be prepared for additional power outages as winter storms continue to move through the area. The utility company says power has been restored to nearly all of the 16,000 customers who lost power yesterday.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A hunter who pleaded guilty to poaching a well-known and well-liked buck in Twin Falls last winter has been sentenced to jail. The Times-News reports that 34-year-old Jacob Pool was sentenced yesterday to 90 days in county jail and a therapeutic and educational program.
