UPPER MARLBORO, Md. (AP) — A court official in Maryland has been charged with using his cellphone to take a picture up a woman's skirt.
The Prince George's County State's Attorney's office said in a statement Thursday that Israel Mangroo, a district court commissioner in neighboring Montgomery County, has been charged with visual surveillance with prurient intent and misconduct in office.
A court commissioner reviews charging documents when a person is arrested and sets pre-trial release.
Prosecutors say Mangroo asked a female employee to visit his office to look at something on his computer and took the photo while she did. The victim says she saw a flash or shutter movement from the phone. Mangroo's attorney says his client has a different version of events.
Prosecutors reported Mangroo has been fired. His trial is set for Jan. 28.
