EDINBORO, Pa. (AP) — School officials say an unspecified threat emailed to some employees at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania is "not credible"
The school about 20 miles south of Erie is one of 14 state-owned universities.
Students are taking final first-semester exams this week. Those exams were going on as scheduled Thursday, despite the threat received Wednesday.
University spokesman Jeffrey Hileman has declined to describe the "threat against the campus" that was emailed to a small number of employees.
But the university said Thursday the FBI and others were investigating and that "law enforcement's collective assessment is that the threat does not appear to be credible."
School administrators have emailed an alert to the school's staff and 5,600 students. They've been asked to remain calm but vigilant.
