CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — A former Nampa high school teacher has pleaded guilty to having sex with one of his students.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1YYCGA6 ) that 28-year-old Tomas Fisher pleaded guilty on Tuesday to sexual battery of a child age 16 or 17.
Fisher taught Spanish at Skyview High School and resigned in July. He was arrested Sept. 1.
Court documents say the student told authorities that she had consensual sexual contact with Fisher multiple times.
The plea agreement states that if Fisher's psycho-sexual evaluation comes back with a recommended "moderate risk" for re-offense, the prosecutor will recommend 15 years in prison.
Sexual battery of a child is a felony crime punishable by up to life in prison. Sentencing is set for Feb. 29.
