CINCINNATI (AP) — A high-ranking U.S. Navy officer will visit a southwest Ohio college as part of Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
Cincinnati State says Rear Adm. Keith Jones will be speaking with students, local and school officials and community leaders on Monday. The school says Jones will talk about the importance of the Dec. 7 anniversary in history, and about veterans' post-duty lives.
The native of Ferriday, Louisiana, has served in many posts including at U.S. Naval Forces Central Command in Bahrain in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
The Japanese attack on the U.S. naval base at Pearl Harbor in 1941 was followed the next day by U.S. declaration of war.
