SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah liquor bosses say they want state lawmakers to rule on whether Starbucks is considered a restaurant before they give the coffee company permission to serve beer and wine at Utah cafes. Starbucks has applied to serve alcohol at five Utah locations but commissioners with the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control declined to vote on the issue at their meeting yesterday.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Police have arrested a Millard County man charged in his wife's death after prosecutors say he gave her vodka knowing it could be fatal when mixed with her medication. Court records show police in West Valley City arrested 61-year-old Lee J. McIntyre of Scipio this week. No attorney was listed for McIntyre.
SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Authorities say they've confirmed that human remains found on a remote peak near Ogden belong to Joshua Easley, a St. George man who disappeared over a year ago. A spokesman with Weber County Sheriff's Office says that dental records confirmed that the decomposing body found by a hiker is the 26-year-old Easley. Police are investigating how he died.
OGDEN, Utah (AP) — A man who was featured in a Sundance documentary has pleaded guilty to assault charges. The Standard-Examiner of Ogden reports that 22-year-old Joemalone Kaufusi was accused of beating a woman multiple times over the course of several months. Kaufusi was featured in the documentary "In Football We Trust," about high school players of Pacific Islander descent aiming for careers in the NFL. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival this year.
