GRAHAMSVILLE, N.Y. (AP) — An upstate New York teacher has been charged with raping a female student.
State police say 31-year-old Jason Horton of Maybrook was arrested Wednesday. Police say Horton had sexual contact with a female student under the age of 17 during school hours while he was an English teacher employed by the Tri-Valley School District in Sullivan County.
Horton left the district earlier this month and is employed by the Poughkeepsie School District.
He has been released from the county jail after posting a $30,000 bond.
It's unclear if he has an attorney who could comment on the charges.
