LAS VEGAS (AP) — Tourists wandering down a popular pedestrian mall in Las Vegas will see a much more orderly display now that rules to restrict street performers have taken effect. Vegas Inc. reports that as of yesterday, street performers looking to work on Fremont Street must register with the city online and enter a lottery for one of 38 available spots. The performers are limited to 38 specific zones between 3 p.m. and 1 a.m.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Las Vegas police have not identified any suspects of a motive in the murder of a man who was found along with two women in a burning home. Police say the man was stabbed and the women had severe burns. Police say the victims were bound with plastic straps. A neighbor was injured rescuing others from the home.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Clark County Commission has approved a $25-a-year county-level licensing fee for drivers with ride-hailing companies such as Uber and Lyft. County commissioners voted yesterday to approve the fee, which will also apply to drivers who work with other companies as independent contractors.

CARSON CITY, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval is reviving some state-level homeland security efforts. The Homeland Security Working Group will select projects eligible for federal funding. Sandoval appointed Lt. Gov. Mark Hutchison to the commission, which is chaired by the governor himself.
