WASHINGTON (AP) — The knife-wielding, masked man featured in Islamic State videos depicting beheading may have been taken out by a U.S. drone strike in Raqqa, (RAH'-kah) Syria. The British man known as "Jihadi John" appears in several videos. A U.S. official says a drone targeted a vehicle in which Mohammed Emwazi was believed to be traveling. The results of the strike are being analyzed.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon won't go into details about the sudden firing of Defense Secretary Ash Carter's top military aide. Army Lt. Gen. Ron Lewis has been accused of misconduct. The matter has been referred to the department's inspector general.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) — Prosecutors have charged a third Missouri man with posting online threats to attack a college campus. Tyler Bradenberg, who is 19, allegedly posted, "I'm gonna shoot up this school," on an anonymous messaging app Wednesday.. Another 19-year-old, a student at Northwest Missouri State, is accused of threatening online to "shoot any black people." And a third man is accused of making online threats against black students and faculty at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) — A Virginia prosecutor says her investigation remains open into a 2013 case in which three South Boston police officers repeatedly used stun guns on a handcuffed black man brought to a hospital for a mental evaluation. Instead of taking him into the hospital, which was steps away, Linwood Lambert Jr. was taken into custody and died. Videos of the incident were first obtained and aired by MSNBC.

MIAMI (AP) — The U.S. Coast Guard says it's searching for a woman who fell from a cruise ship about 22 miles off the coast of Cuba. Coast Guard officials said in a news release that the unidentified passenger fell from a deck of the Norwegian Pearl on Thursday night. A Coast Guard cutter and a C-130 plane are assisting in the search.
