UNITED NATIONS (AP) — U.N. humanitarian officials say five people have been killed in a cyclone that hit Yemen on Monday.
The spokesman for the U.N. secretary-general told reporters Tuesday that 16 people were reported missing and 60 were reported injured.
Stephane Dujarric says the cyclone caused "significant damage" on the remote island of Socotra, with around 800 houses completely or partially destroyed.
He says some 3,000 families were displaced.
Fighting in the Arab world's poorest country between a Saudi-led coalition and Iran-backed Houthi rebels has hurt efforts to get aid to many places around Yemen for several months.
