HOMEDALE, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say a man is hospitalized after he was stabbed at a senior community in Homedale, about 40 miles west of Boise. KTVB-TV reports that the stabbing Saturday afternoon at an apartment complex sent 77-year-old Eleuterio Villarreal to a hospital where he underwent surgery. Authorities are still searching for a suspect.

PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) — Pullman officials are considering whether to impose a temporary ban on new marijuana operations. The Lewiston Tribune reports the moratorium would prohibit any new production, processing or retail operations from opening for business. It wouldn't apply to the two marijuana stores that have begun operating in Pullman, or to a third in the process of opening.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Housing data collected by banks and mortgage companies show an increase in home loan applications submitted in Idaho for a second year. More construction coupled with stronger confidence in the housing economy has economists and regulators pointing to more activity throughout the Gem State.

PAYETTE, Idaho (AP) — A southwestern Idaho man authorities say escaped the Payette County jail by scaling a razor-wire fence and then taunted authorities on social media has been arrested in Mexico. The U.S. Marshall's Service tells KBOI-TV that Nicholas Grove is being brought back to Idaho. U.S. marshals say social media played a role in Grove's capture because he bragged about his escape on Facebook.
