ATLANTA (AP) — Clark Atlanta University is warning its students about recent robberies that have occurred on and near campus.

Police tell WSB-TV (http://bit.ly/20tx1DY) that three individuals were separately confronted by men on Saturday who jumped out of a black SUV, tried to rob them and then pepper-sprayed the victims in the face.

Authorities say the first armed robbery happened near campus on Saturday afternoon. A student walking back from the nearby Walmart told police two men robbed her at gunpoint and pepper-sprayed her.

Another incident happened on campus that day in an attempted robbery that ended with another student getting pepper-sprayed. A third similar attack that evening involved a woman who wasn't a student being robbed.

Clark Atlanta police have increased patrols since the robberies.
