KOKOMO, Ind. (AP) — Indiana University Kokomo has announced plans for a downtown art gallery that will feature artwork from students, faculty and alumni.

The Kokomo Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1ijcKP7 ) the gallery expected to open in February or early March will be the school's second art gallery. The other is located on campus.

Chancellor Susan Sciame-Giesecke says the downtown gallery will help bring attention to artwork, saying many people forget about the on-campus gallery.

The downtown gallery will be located in the Firestone Building that has largely been vacant for several decades. The renovated building also is expected to house a cafe, a juice bar, and a yoga studio.
