BOISE, Idaho (AP) — The former president of the Idaho Aquarium in Boise has been arrested in Texas on charges of violating conditions of his probation, including an agreement not to buy, sell or possess fish or wildlife. KTVB-TV reports court documents say Ammon Covino will be transferred to Florida to face charges. Covino was convicted in 2013 of conspiring to illegally import sea life from Florida for the Boise aquarium. He was sentenced to one year in prison and two years of supervised release.
JACKSON, Wyo. (AP) — A Wyoming man who holds a cow-elk only tag has been cited for killing a bull elk in a portion of Grand Teton National Park that is closed for hunting. The Jackson Hole News & Guide reports Robert Baltensperger was cited for four infractions related to the illegal killing of a bull Saturday. He's accused of illegally taking game, hunting in the wrong area, violating the terms of his permit and killing the wrong sex of elk.
MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) — Neptune Aviation has been awarded five-year contracts to fly four retardant bombers in the U.S. Forest Service's fire aviation fleet. The Missoulian reports the four BAe-146 planes are part of the Forest Service's "next generation" firefighting program and the contracts are worth about $5 million a year, per plane.
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — Marshall and Boise State have agreed to a two-game football series. The schools announced today that they will meet beginning in 2019, when Marshall will visit Boise, Idaho. The Broncos will travel to Huntington to play the Thundering Herd in 2020.
