LAS VEGAS (AP) — A group of anti-drone advocates planned to again plead their cause in a Las Vegas court following their arrests at the entrance of a U.S. Air Force base earlier this year. About 12 protesters-turned-defendants were expected to use their individual trials to call for an end to the use of remotely piloted aircraft for armed missions in places like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen and Somalia. Most represent themselves on misdemeanor trespass and blocking traffic charges.

BATTLE MOUNTAIN, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the death of an 80-year-old Reno man who was hit by an SUV on Interstate 80 near Battle Mountain after his car broke down on the side of the highway. A Trooper says Charles Hubach was either walking or standing in the middle of the westbound travel lane when he was struck. He says the driver was not injured and immediately pulled over to the shoulder.
