Police: Student hit by school bus in southeast Atlanta

ATLANTA (AP) — Police say a 7-year-old student was hit by a school bus.

Local news media report that the Slater Elementary School student was struck as the bus pulled away from a stop at Adair and Hopkins Street in southeast Atlanta. Police say the student was taken to the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston.

The child's condition was not available.

Police say the driver immediately secured the bus and attended to the child.

Atlanta Public Schools and Atlanta Police are investigating the incident.
