SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A 2-year-old girl is in critical condition following a three-car accident in Salt Lake City.
KSL-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1PJnPYh) that the incident happened around 7 p.m. Friday on 2100 South near 900 West.
Police say a woman driving a Hyundai lost control and rear-ended a utility van.
Police spokesman John Beener says the impact caused the Hyundai to jump an island into the opposite lanes of traffic and hit another car.
Beener says the woman's 2-year-old daughter was pulled from the car and appeared to have breathing problems.
The girl suffered no other injuries but was hospitalized.
No other injuries were reported.
Beener says the mother has a history of suffering seizures and alcohol has been ruled out as a factor.
