LAS VEGAS (AP) — Authorities say a Nevada state prison inmate who escaped 11 days ago in Ely has been arrested in Las Vegas.
Las Vegas police said Wednesday that 25-year old Courtland Kimble was arrested Tuesday at an apartment complex near Charleston and Nellis boulevards. That's east of downtown Las Vegas.
The Nevada Department of Corrections reported that Kimble left the minimum security Ely Conservation Camp late Oct. 3. Officials initially thought he headed west.
Instead, he traveled 250 miles south to Las Vegas.
Records show Kimble pleaded guilty before trial in 2010 in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas to robbery with use of a deadly weapon.
Prisons officials say he was serving a 15-year prison sentence.
He's expected now to face felony escape charges.
