LAS VEGAS (AP) — One bold-name Democrat was completely absent from last night's Democratic presidential debate in Las Vegas: Joe Biden. The vice president had been expected to be the elephant in the room as he continues weighing whether to enter the primary. But not one of the five candidates onstage mentioned his name, nor were they asked how his entrance would alter the race.
PAHRUMP, Nev. (AP) — Authorities say former NBA and reality TV star Lamar Odom has been hospitalized after he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel. Nye County's Sheriff says the department got a call for an ambulance to pick up an unresponsive man at the Love Ranch in Crystal, about 70 miles outside of Las Vegas. A sheriff's statement says Odom was hospitalized but there's no further word on Odom's condition.
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say a Nevada college student who vanished days ago during a visit to California has turned up safe at her dorm room. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office says 23-year-old Dianne Thacher returned to Sierra Nevada College near Lake Tahoe yesterday afternoon. She was reported missing Sunday by her family in Rhode Island. The Sheriff's Office says Thacher's cellphone battery died and she stayed several days with a male acquaintance.
LAS VEGAS (AP) — The Sacramento Kings beat the Los Angeles Lakers 107-100 in an exhibition game at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last night. Kobe Bryant scored 10 points before leaving in the third quarter with a bruise on his left leg. The Lakers had no immediate update on his condition, but it didn't appear to be serious.
