WASHINGTON, Jul 18, 2006 (UPI via COMTEX) -- The federal report on the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States will soon be available in comic book form.
The book by comic industry veterans Ernie Colon and Sid Jacobson condenses the report by the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States to fewer than 150 pages, the Washington Post reported.
Colon told The Post the comic book is aimed at children, teenagers and adults who are unlikely to read the government's nearly 600 page version.
The pair uses captions, artist renderings, charts and words such as "Whooom!" and "R-rrumble," to recount the attacks of the four hijacked planes, The Post said.
The commission's chairman, former New Jersey Gov. Thomas Kean, has written a foreward for the comic book.
"When I first heard about it, I was very concerned but when I looked at it, it was absolutely accurate," Kean told the Post.
Jacobson is the creator of the "Richie Rich" series and Colón drew "Richie Rich" and "Casper" for 25 years.
