PEWAUKEE, Wis. (AP) — The Pewaukee School District canceled classes, the homecoming football game, pep rally and parade on Friday because of a threat.

A letter to parents from the superintendent says administrators called police after a handwritten message warning of a school shooting Friday was found at Pewaukee High School. Police began sweeping the buildings Thursday night and will continue Friday.

The homecoming dance is still scheduled for Saturday.
