SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Prosecutors in Utah say a Salt Lake City man told police that he shot three people staying at his house, including a baby, because they wouldn't move out.
Prosecutors charged 32-year-old Alexander Hung Tran with three counts of aggravated murder on Thursday.
Charging documents say Tran's mother bought the house, and when she found out the he was letting people stay she asked for them move.
He said they wouldn't leave, but called the day of the deaths and reported they were gone. Police say Tran acknowledged the shootings when officers found him with a gun on Sept. 18.
The victims were 2-month-old Lyrik Poike, her 50-year-old grandmother Heike Poike, and an acquaintance, 28-year-old Dakota Smith.
Their bodies were discovered after Heike Poike didn't get her 8-year-old grandson from school.
No attorney was immediately listed for Tran.
