MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — A man arrested in the robbery of a Wells Fargo Bank in Moscow this month broke down in court and told the judge he has no memory of committing the robbery. The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports 31-year-old Ebrahem E. Arar, of Moscow, appeared in Latah County Magistrate Court on Friday. Arar wept as he told the judge his wife is leaving him.
MOSCOW, Idaho (AP) — The year's Idaho Heritage Conference in Moscow, Idaho, attracted more than 200 attendees. Latah County Historical Society Executive Director Dulce Kersting says the goal is to promote ways to protect Idaho's heritage for future generations. The conference last week included bus tours throughout the Palouse and a walking historical tour of Moscow and the University of Idaho's campus.
DARBY, Mont. (AP) — The Triple Creek Ranch near Darby, Montana, has been rated tops among the 30 best hotels in the world by a New York-based news and entertainment website Business Insider. The ranch is in a remote area on the West Fork of the Bitterroot River, near the Idaho border. It is owned by former Intel CEO Craig Barrett and his wife Barbara, the former U.S. ambassador to Finland.
CALDWELL, Idaho (AP) — Their family described it as the perfect ending to a 55-year love story. On Sept. 17, Ana Maria Chavez died hand-in-hand with her husband, Domingo Chavez. The couple was in the room they shared at their son's Caldwell home. Their hands were resting on a heart-shaped pillow. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports that shortly after that, Domingo followed his wife and died on his 76th birthday.
