KUALA LUMPUR, Malaysia (AP) — Eight people are being held in Malaysia for questioning in connection with last month's bombing at a Bangkok shrine that killed 20 people. Authorities in Malaysia say four of the eight are Malaysians involved in human trafficking, while the other four are believed to be ethnic Uighur (WEE-gur) men who entered the country illegally. Thailand has suggested that those behind the blast may have been from a gang involved in smuggling Uighurs from the Chinese region of Xinjiang (shihn-jahng).

RIVER FOREST, Ill. (AP) — Talk about free labor. Sixty-seven-year-old Barry Bauman has spent up to 10 hours every day for the past 11 years restoring some 1,500 paintings for museums nationwide. The Illinois man has done about $5 million worth of work, but he's not getting paid. Bauman owned an art conservation company for about 20 years, and then sold it. He says he thought about continuing to restore art, but at a reduced price. His wife suggested he do it for nothing.
